    TAMPA, Fla. - USL League One announced on Monday the Team of the Week Presented by Cleer Audio for Week 20 of the 2021 regular season, with FC Tucson forward Giovanni Calixtro named Player of the Week after scoring a hat trick against Fort Lauderdale CF, leading his side to a 4-0 win at DRV PNK Stadium on Sunday night. Calixtro opened the scoring on six minutes, polishing off a brilliant team move with a clever finish to the far post. He doubled his tally with a close-range strike 20 minutes later, and rounded off his hat trick early in the second half with an instinctive goal in the box.

    Calixtro is a product of the Portland Timbers Academy, and though only 20, already has more than 50 professional appearances and nine goals to his name from his time with Portland Timbers 2 in the USL Championship.

    “Giovanni is a young, talented goal scorer that I have watched all throughout his time within the Portland Timbers system,” said FC Tucson Head Coach John Galas. “We believe that he is an ambitious young man who is poised to have a strong showing in USL League One and will make an immediate impact. Most importantly, he’s a proven professional who has logged over 3000 minutes in the USL Championship at just 20-years-old. We are thrilled to welcome him to Tucson.”
